Intro to Wheel: Mindful Clay

Cost: $495

Led by mindfulness practitioner Gabriel Parque, MFA, students in our Mindful Clay class will learn the basics of the pottery wheel and how to integrate mindfulness practices into your clay work and daily life!

Our eight-week beginner wheel classes feature hands-on professional instruction with weekly lessons covering all of the basics. Students have access to open studio hours while enrolled in the class and can expect to fire a few pieces to take home.

MIXED LEVEL CERAMICS: CREATIVITY & FLEXIBILITY

Open to all levels, including beginners

Cost: $495

Break free from the limits of the traditional wheel-thrown pot. In this mixed-level course, students will explore a wide range of ceramic tools and techniques—including slab building, wheel throwing, and extrusion—to create functional ware, sculptural forms, or conceptual pieces.

Led by Logan Stefonek of Old Devil Fine Wares, this class is grounded in both technical skill and artistic exploration. Logan holds a BFA in Painting & Drawing and brings years of experience in ceramic creation and education. His teaching style emphasizes experimentation, craftsmanship, and expanding creative possibilities through process.

As with all Elemental Studios classes, we bring a wellness focus to the work. This course invites students to practice creative flexibility—a mindset that supports emotional well-being and personal growth. Just as many potters get stuck in the cycle of throwing only cylindrical forms, we all tend to fall into rigid patterns in our lives: default ways of thinking, habitual problem-solving, even how we move through relationships. By actively disrupting those patterns—both in clay and in life—we open space for new perspectives, deeper creativity, and more adaptive responses to challenge.
